Leadership Training for Girls in India, Kerala

This project aims to orientate young girls with basic leadership skills and styles. A leadership training curriculum will be developed and implemented in an all girls' school to foster active social intervention within their society and community at large. It focuses on developing awareness about women's participation in local governance, civil society and women's rights. The curriculum is structured towards eliminating any form of gender discrimination both positive and negative and emphasizes the importance of individualism. The program will also teach and encourage team work and collective action.

A fact-finding mission to study the feasibility of the project is scheduled for September 2008.
